TRIP INTO THE BLUE - A KIK.ART PROJECT ON THE SUBJECT WATER 10.8.- 9.9.2012 The origin of all things, the water - that from which is everything that exists and from which it first becomes and to which it is rendered at last. With this thesis of Thales of Miletus, Western philosophy begins. Beyond question, water is essentially relevant to our life but yet  taken for granted. The access to pure water is essential to survive, but far from being available to anyone. Nowadays, in the age of  man-made climatic change, the resource of water has become of immense worth for mankind. Within the scope of Gartenregion Hannover 2012, the artclub kik.kunst in kontakt had asked five artists from the region Hannover, male and female, to embark on a journey and immerse artistically into the blue medium water. The title “Trip into the Blue” is working title and topical clue as well: The artists are asked to originate ideas and visions for “Blue Spots” and the subject WATER, but also integrate the transgressive meaning of this global resource into their artwork and transform the results into an exhibition of art projects. The five on-topic contributions will be presented to the public as part of a multimedia exhibition in August and September 2012 on the premises of kik.kunst in kontakt. An eclectic programme of events will accompany the exhibition.
